WANTED TOURING THEATRE TECHNIAN/DRIVER

JOB OPPORTUNITY:

The Kala Chethena Kathakali Troupe has a job opportunity for a Touring Theatre Technician/Driver to join the company from 18th September to 11th November 2024. 

Ideally 25 years plus, to drive our minibus – younger candidates can be considered.

The job includes

Working with a small touring company of six artists specialising in Kathakali - the classical dance drama of Kerala Southern India.

Driving a minibus, working in a variety of venues including schools, village halls, Art Centres, theatres and museums.  

Preparing technical specifications, checking technical details with the theatres in advance of the tour, communicating our technical requirements to the in-house theatre crew on the day.

Setting up and running our own lights, sound system and film in venues with no equipment such as small village halls.

Driving our minibus.

Knowledge of theatre lighting, sound and a clean drivng licence required.

Someone who likes travelling, enjoys working in different theatrical environments and an appreciation of cultural diversity - enjoying south Indian food an advantage!

The tour is mainly in the south of England.

Pay

ITC rates apply.

Accommodation will be in self-catering properties or hospitality [own room].
